No. Club members must wait inside for their rides, and we prefer that the parent come inside the building to request their child.
Yes. Summer hours are from 12:00-5:15 P.M. and we are open all summer long with the exception of HELP Camp week at the end of June.
Not unless they want to play the DanceDance machine (.25). For the most part, the snacks and crafts that we do at the Club are all free. Sometimes a sewing project might require some fabric that we will ask if members can provide, but if they are unable, we will always find a way to provide it so they can participate.
The number of staff working in the Club varies throughout the year. There are many teen and adult volunteers that come in to help. No center is open unless a staff member is present.
Club members are eligible to attend the teen center and teen events beginning July 1st the summer before they start 7th grade.
Club members are able to choose from as many as 10 different centers that offer a wide variety of activities. Members are free to look at the daily schedule and choose for themselves which activities they want to participate in.
We serve every child a free snack every day. We are reimbursed for those snacks based on a child’s school lunch program status, and need to have that information on file here at the club. If that information is not filled in then we are reimbursed five cents for that child. If you know of a way to feed a child a healthy snack for five cents we’d like to know about it. Please fill out the information completely!
Yes! The power hour room is part of our 21st Century Learning Center that is operated in cooperation with Havre Public Schools. Our staff and the school room teachers communicate on a daily basis to make sure that we know about upcoming assignments, spelling lists and so forth. There are always trained staff members and volunteers on hand in the power hour room to assist members with their homework.
Yes. We have an open door policy. It is up to you to let your child know when and with whom they may leave the Club. We will, of course, discourage them from leaving without parental permission and will keep parents informed if this happens.
Yes. We run background checks on all staff and volunteers at the Club and update them on a yearly basis. No parent can enter programming spaces unless accompanied by a staff member or screened volunteer.
Sometimes! We have a computer tracking system at the Club that shows us when members scan in or out of the Club. In addition, we can see if they have been to the snack bar or power hour because those centers have a scanner in them as well.
Yes, from time to time Club members travel to places of interest in the community. If a field trip is coming up, the involved members will have a permission slip sent home with them. Please sign and return the slip as soon as possible so that we can plan for transportation and not have to leave your child out of a fun experience.
