Summer Attendance Soars Again 2012

Summer 2012

The Club was a busy place during the summer months, with average attendance at 160 through the month of June, and peaking at 205. Attendance dipped in July and August but still averaged well over 100 members per day. "Having the Northern MT Transit bus made a big difference again this year," said Club director Tim Brurud. Each summer, the Club pays for a bus route that stops at the Club at noon and at 5pm. Tim said it has been well worth the investment. "Reliable transportation is the key to good attendance," said Tim. "The bus is full every day." On Big Toy Day, the Club′s end of summer celebration, the bus ran the route twice and came back full both times. Another big draw for summer attendees is a free lunch. The Club fed lunch to an average of 69 kids each day this summer. "We offer the only free summer lunch program in the community," said Executive Director Krista Solomon. "Any child under 18 can come to the Club and get a free meal." "We know that when school is not in session, it may be the only meal some of our kids will get that day."
