Torch Club Raises Funds For Student
Spring 2013
When Torch Club president Hondo Owens learned that a fellow middle school student had been diagnosed with cancer, he wanted to help. Dylan Hendrickson had recently been pulled out of school to go to Seattle and receive treatments. Hondo and his fellow Torch Club members decided to organize a fundraiser to help pay for Dylan’s expenses. For two days in January they sold candy at the Boys & Girls Club entrance. They raised $187. Torch Club members then made a card for Dylan to send with the funds, cheering him on and urging him to get well soon. Torch Club is a service organization for middle school students. In December, members went caroling at Eagles Manor and the Care Center. In the spring and fall they clean a section of the highway south of Havre. Your support of the Boys & Girls Club provides our members with opportunities like these, enabling them to reach their full potential as caring, productive citizens. Thank you for supporting our community′s youth!
